Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 01:DELHI (Arrival)

red fort delhiArrive DELHI - The Political and Cultural Capital of Incredible India to be greeted at the airport by our representative arrival team, who will be waiting with pre-printed signboard of your name at the arrival hall immediately after crossing customs area and currency exchange counters. You will be escorted to the car which will take you to the hotel for check inn. Drive to the hotel is approx 35 minutes form airport. Although most of the international flights arrive late in the evening or at night; your activities for the day will depend upon your arrival flight timing. Spend the night at the hotel for sleep and to get over with the Jet Lag. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Delhi.

Day 02: OLD & NEW DELHI

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel our guide will greet you at the hotel to take you for a full day Guided Sightseeing of Old and New Delhi in Private Dlx Car.

Start off by the visit to The Qutab Minar Complex, followed by The Lotus Temple. Drive through Sfadarjung Tomb or Humanyu Tomb, India Gate, Parliament House, President House and Raj Ghat before entering the Old Delhi to visit the Jamia Mazjid, the famous Red Fort and Chandini Chowk, Walk through the narrow alleys of the oldest and busiest bazaars of India or take a Rickshaw Ride. Visit Shish Ganj Gurudwara. In between if time permits you will also be taken to visit the famous Akshardham Temple or Lakshmi Narayan Temple. To wind up the day tour visit some of the beautiful souvenir shops to buy some of the most exquisite memories from India for your loved ones. Finish the tour with the spectacular Sound and Light Show (1 Hr) at Purana Quila delving into Delhi's glorious and tumultuous past, which makes the 5,000 years old history of the city come alive. Drive through the famous Victorian Cannaught Place - One of the most prominent architectural remnants of British Rule.

Return back to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure activities. You may go for dinner at an excellent Mughal/ Indian/ Continental Restaurant. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Delhi.

Day 03: DELHI - SHEKHAWATI / Mandawa (250 Kms – 05 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to SHEKHAWATI Region (Mandawa) through the colorful villages of Rajasthan. Majestic Shekhawati region or the semi-desert region of Shekhawati, lying in the triangular region between Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner, is famous for its plethora of painted havelis (mansions), all commendable pieces of the rich artistic traditions of this region. The 'Open Air Gallery of Rajasthan', as it is popularly called 'Shekhawati', the Land of Shekhs, derives its name from Rao Shekha (1433-88). The major towns of interest in the region are Mandawa, Dundlod, Fatehpur, Ramgarh, Nawalgarh and Jhunjhunu, although virtually every town has at least a few surviving havelis

Arrive & check in at the Heritage Haveli called the Castle Mandawa reminding you of the rich cultural heritage of the Shekhawati region. Later in the day visit the 150 to 200 year old painted havelies (big houses) by the natural colors in the streets of the village. Medieval turreted towers, palanquin-roofed balconies, blend with modern comforts in old-world rooms. You can also watch the daily village life while watching the havelies. Enjoy the evening at the heritage hotel watching the traditional colorful cultural dance and music show. You can have dinner over bonfire. Overnight stay is at the Hotel.

Day 04: SHEKHAWATI (Nawalgarh & Dundlod)

shekhawati tourAfter breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and travel to nearby Nawalgarh & Dundlod. Enroute visit Dunload Fort a two centuries old fort owned by the thakur of Dundload, now converted in to the a heritage hotel, the Diwan khana is worth to see, it houses the old ornaments, books, & other several other things that are a real treat to visit. Arrive and check into one of the most beautiful havelies of Shekhawati region now converted into heritage hotel. Later in the day after change, wash and some rest go for sightseeing of the region. You will be amazed as you visit the mansions covered with frescoes depicting the whole gamut on social and religious life, where history is painted with humor. Major attractions of the place include Aath (eight) Haveli complex, Anandilal Poddar haveli, Jodhraj Patodia haveli, Chokhani haveli and hotel Roop Niwas Palace. You may go for a Village Safari on Horse or Camel or Jeep to feast your eyes and experience the richness of Shekhawati region.

A royal dinner awaits you at the hotel amidst cultural folk dance and music show being performed by local inhabitants. Cultural dance and music are a must part of your stay at these havelies. Overnight stay is at the Heritage Haveli.

Day 05: MANDAWA - BIKANER (190 Kms - 04 hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the resort check out and drive to Bikaner. This desert city has a stark beauty which is totally unique. The wide-spread sand dunes, the moonlit glittering beauty and desert agility, the worth-seeing natural sites, the marvelous palaces and temples, wild life sanctuaries and archeological treasures all combine to make this city a place of lasting charm and permanent attraction. The city founded by Rao Biked Ji in 1488 A.D. stands on a slightly raised ground and is circumscribed by a seven km long embattled wall with five gates. The magnificent forts and palaces, created with delicacy in reddish-pink sandstone, bear testimony to its rich historical and architectural legacy. If dreams are cast in stones or if stones can sing they would be like the exteriors and interiors of Bikaner havelies – This is Bikaner for you.

Arrive & check in at the Hotel.

After a change and wash go for half day sightseeing of Bikaner visiting some of the best havelies and forts. Carvings find best expression in Bikaneri havelies. Havelies are marvels in home architecture. Such havelies or residential houses do not exist anywhere in the world. Visit the Junagarh Fort founded in year 1593 by Raja Rai Singh who was general in the army of mighty Mughal emperor Akbar and rest of the Fort was improved by the successors. Afterwards visit some of the Golden Era Palaces which have been now converted into Heritage Hotels - the Lalgarh Palace, Gajner Palace and some of the beautiful Havelies like Rampuria Group of Havelies, Rikhji bagri ki Haveli and Haveli of Bhairondan Kothari. Later go on to visit the Asia’s largest Camel Breeding Research Farm and local busy markets. Return back to the hotel or you may go for shopping activities on the colorful street markets of Bikaner. Overnight stay is at Hotel.

Day 06: BIKANER - Deshnok – KHIMSAR (150 Kms – 3.5 Hrs)

bikaner tourAfter breakfast in the morning at the hotel drive to KHIMSAR. Enroute visit one of the famous 600 year’s old Deshnok Rat Temples popularly known as Karni Mata Mandir. The temple has fascinating huge silver gates and marble carvings that were donated by Maharaja Ganga Singhji. The most attractive feature of temple are the rodents (rats) who scamper freely within the premises and if one touches your feet it is considered auspicious. They are regarded sacred and devotees buy Prasad (feeding) to offer to them.

Continue your drive to Khimsar was once a small kingdom and the battle scarred walls of the fort bear testimony to the historical significance of the place. Khimsar is renowned for the 16th century Khimsar Fort that is situated on the edge of the great Thar Desert. Set in the midst of sand dunes, this amazing fort stands as securely as it did over many centuries of battle and strife. 21 generations later, a part of this fort is still residence to the Karamsot Rathor direct lineage while the rest has been opened out to royal Rajput hospitality, personally overseen by the family.

Arrive and check into the Grand Heritage hotel – Khimsar Fort.

Rest of the day is free to enjoy your stay and experience this princely heritage hospitality. Optionally you can take a Desert Jeep Safari into the Sand Dunes – part of Thar Desert and visit some of the most colorful villages of the Rajasthan. Meet villagers and visit the Khimsar Sand Dunes Village.

Return back to the hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 07: KHIMSAR – JAISALMER (260 Kms – 05 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel drive to JAISALMER. Jaisalmer often referred as the Golden City of India was founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D. after shifting his capital from Ladurva. Jaisalmer was the main caravan route from Far East to the Middle East. Jaisalmer stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, in the heart of the Thar Desert. Crowned by a fort containing the palace and several ornate Jain temples, Jaisalmer was positioned strategically and was a halting point along a traditional trade route traversed by the camel caravans of Indian and Asian merchants. The route linked India to Central Asia, Egypt, Arabia, Persia, Africa and the West. The havelis, built by merchants of the 19th century, are exquisitely carved from golden-yellow sandstone and are still in a beautiful condition. The fort built by Rawal Jaisal in the 12th century, stands on the 80 meter high Trikuta hill, with beautifully carved Jain temples.

Arrive & check in at Hotel. Evening is for leisure activities in and around the Heritage hotel / Haveli to get a feeling of the Golden Rajasthan Era. City Overnight stay is at the heritage Hotel / Haveli.

Day 08: JAISALMER

After breakfast in the morning go for full day guided sightseeing of Jaisalmer visiting the famous Jaisalmer Fort ( 80 meters above plains ) known as Sonar Quila & Jain Temples within the Fort built in 12th to 15th century which are very worth watching. The specialty of the Fort is that still approximately 5000 people are living inside. Visit Fort Palace & atop from Palace you can have the golden view of whole Jaisalmer city as whole city is built in yellow sand stones, when sun rays fall on the city, it give impression as golden city of India. Later in the day visit Patwon Ji Ki Haveli – the largest 5 storied Haveli in Jaisalmer; Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli of the 19th Century and Salim Singh Ki Haveli. In the evening drive to Sand Dunes to watch sensational Sun Set by Camel Safari Ride. Return back to the hotel in the evening. Rest of the day is free for shopping activities in some of the most colorful shops of Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is famous for embroidery, Rajasthani mirror work, rugs, blankets, antiques and old stone work, Tie-dye and other fabrics and some of the exquisitely carved wooden boxes. Overnight stay is at the heritage hotel / Haveli in Jaisalmer.

Day 09: JAISALMER – Oscian - JODHPUR (280 Kms – 06 hrs)

jaisalmer tourAfter breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to JODHPUR. Enroute visit the Oscian Village - An oasis in the desert. Osian has 15 beautifully sculpted Jain and Brahmanical temples which are renowned for their sculptural beauty. Continue your drive to Jodhpur.

JODHPUR is often called as the Sun City of India for its consistently bright, sunny climate is famous for its magnificent forts and palaces, Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 AD after shifting his capital from Mandore to Jodhpur by the advice of a holy man. The city dominated by the massive Mehrangarh fort on a rocky hill. There are about 100 towers in the city, most of which are surrounded by defensive battlements. Set at the edge of the Thar Desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the stark desert landscapes meet a riot of palaces, forts and temples, all enclosed within imposing city walls. Six enormous gates provide entry to the city centre: Nagauri, Merati, Sojati, Jalori and Siwanchi gates, plus Chand Pole. The city is encompassed by a high wall -10 km long with 8 gates and innumerable bastions.

Arrive and check into the hotel. Later in the day go for guided sightseeing of Jodhpur. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort 125 meters above plains - The walls of the fort are enormous—up to 36m high and 21m wide. Admire the breathtaking view of the city from the ramparts, saving some time to check out the fort museum, which houses an exquisite collection of palanquins, howdahs, royal cradles, miniatures, musical instruments, costumes and furniture. Some of the spectacular palaces of Mehrangarh to be seen are Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Janaki Mahal, Phool Mahal, Rang Mahal, Darbar takhat. Jaswant -Thada – the traditional cremation ground for the royalties of Jodhpur. This is a royal cenotaph made up of white marble. It was built to commemorate Maharaja Jaswant Singh. Some rare portraits of the former rulers of Jodhpur are also displayed here. Umaid Bhawan palace – now one of the most luxurious heritage hotels in India and Sardar Market Clock Tower - Tiny shops line both sides of the narrow lanes in these markets. One can find textiles, silver, handicrafts, aromatic spices, vegetables and colorful Indian sweets in these shops. Evening is for shopping and leisure activities. Later in the day return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: JODHPUR (Bishnoi Village Safari – Jeep)

After breakfast early in the morning you will be picked up from the hotel for an exclusive Jeep Safari through the Bishnoi Villages. Start off with a visit to the site of Kahejarli Massacre, this place itself describe the Bishnois. This place is famous for its great history where thousands of Bishnois have given there life to protect tree. Continue your Safari to visit the Singhasani Village famous for its unique pottery and style of pottery making, you can experience and enjoy the art yourself. Carry on to visit Kankani Village famous for the art of Block Printings

Lunch will be served with a local Bishnoi Village Family. Your village safari includes visit to the Chota Guda or the Shepherd’s Village where in you can experience the real village life and take some of the memorable photographs with villagers. Visit h Lake Guda - Here you can watch wild animals in there natural habitats, many species of desert animals are found there some of them our Antelopes, Gazelle, Dumessille Crane, Rabbits, Blue Bulls, Migrated Birds, Peacocks etc. Enjoy one of the most spectacular sunset over the Lake.

To complete the village safari visit the Salawas –Dari Udyog. Salawas is a land of magic carpets; a land where fantasy and reality joins forces to keep alive one of its most famous traditions: the durry (Rugs). The durry (Rugs), weather weaved out of cotton or wool, spreads colorful tradition and heritage from its primitive form of weaving in the villages of Rajasthan.

Drive back to the hotel in Jodhpur to end the Jeep Safari. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Jodhpur.

Day 11: JODHPUR – NIMAJ (110 Kms – 03 hrs)

jodhpur tourAfter breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to NIMAJ. This is a small town located in the interiors of Rajasthan. Arrive and check into the heritage hotel –The Nimaj Palace. After change, wash and some rest experience Rajput hospitality at its best. Wonder through the Palace, which is a testament to the valour and chivalry of Marwar. See the village life, visit the 9th century temple, end the off-beat at ‘Chhatra Sagar lake’ to see the sun setting behind the dam which gives a golden glow to the lake before sinking behind the unique and rustic architecture of the dam. You can swim, fish, do bird watching, take a round of the green fields or sip cocktails as you cruise in the shimmering backwaters of the lake and return. You can also take up safaris to the wild life encounters, tribal / Dhani cultural tour, visit places of Religious and historical interest. Return back to the hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 12: NIMAJ – Ranakpur - UDAIPUR (200 Kms – 05 hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to UDAIPUR. Enroute stop for sightseeing of Ranakpur Jain Temples which were built during the reign of the liberal and gifted monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. An enormous basement covers 48,000 sq. feet area. There are 4 subsidiary shrines, 24 pillared halls and eligibly domes supported by over 400 columns. In total there are 1,444 columns; all of which are intricately carved no two being alike. The artistically carved nymphs playing the flute in various dance postures at a height of 45 feet are an engrossing sight. In the assembly hall, there are 2 big bells weighing 108 kg whose sound echoes in the entire complex. Continue your drive to UDAIPUR – articulated as the most romantic cities of Rajasthan. Udaipur, once known as Mewar, is the land that produced a galaxy of patriots and heroes in quick succession, people who etched the name of Rajasthan in every corner of the world. It remained untouched from Mughal religious and aesthetics influences and remained so till the coming of the Europeans. The Lake City is also Popularly known as the Venice of the East, Udaipur is famous worldwide for its plethora of breathtaking lakes and Raj-era palaces. Most famous of these, and certainly the most photographed, is the Lake Palace, an island-palace where the white marble buildings (now a hotel) entirely cover a small island in Pichola Lake. Originally known as the Jag Niwas, the palace took three years to build and was inaugurated in 1746. The city’s lakes -Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar, Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar are considered among the most beautiful in Rajasthan at an altitude of 577 MSL surrounded by the Aravalli Hills. Udaipur was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 AD, (Maha means great & Rana means warrior, so Maharana means a great warrior).

Enroute driving to Udaipur; visit some of the colorful villages of Rajasthan. Arrive and check into the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure activities in and around the hotel in this beautiful city of lakes. Overnight stay is at the hotel.

Day 13: UDAIPUR

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel go for guided sightseeing day tour of Udaipur visiting the beautiful City Palace, Jagdish Temple built in 1651 AD, Fatehsagar Lake, and Sahalion Ki Bari (the Garden of Maidens), Crystal Gallery, Partap Smarak: A memorial to the legendary warrior Rana Pratap etc. In the later part of the day enjoy Boat Ride in Lake Pichola to visit Jagmandir Island. Later in the evening enjoy exciting cultural folk dances of Rajasthan at Meera Kala Mandir. Optionally if interested you may also visit the classic Vintage Car Collection Museum OR the lake Palace situated amidst the lake –converted to one of the most beautiful and luxurious hotels of India. Day 14: UDAIPUR – Chittorgarh – KOTA (270 Kms – 06 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to KOTA. Enroute visit the famous Chittorgarh Fort. Chittorgarh is the epitome of Rajput pride, romance and spirit. It reverberates with history of heroism and sacrifice, which is evident as it echoes with the tales sung by the Bards of Rajasthan. The massive hilltop Chittorgarh fort, which is a depiction of Rajput culture and value, has a 1 kilometer zigzag accent to it. Even though the fort is ruin but it is an overwhelming reminder of past history and its walls resonate with unbelievable legend of extra ordinary men and women and their equally astounding deeds. The fort stands on a 240-hectares site on a 180m high hill that rises rapidly from the plains below. Chittaur echoes with the tales of romance and valor unique to the Rajput tradition. A ruined citadel - Where the royal past lives in its imposing forts, graceful palaces and spectacular chattris.

Continue your drive to KOTA to arrive and check into the Heritage Hotel. Kota is an amazing, juxtaposition of majestic medieval age and modern industrialization, mainly the Hydro Electric Plant on the Chambal River and the Nuclear Power Plant has a few traces of its past still left.

After change, wash and some rest go for sightseeing of Kota visiting the Kota Fort overlooking the river Chambal housing one of the best historic museums of Chauhans and Mughal Era. Also visit the Jag Mandir, Temples, elaborately painted chambers and Ghazi Gate- famous for its outstanding mirror work, ebony and ivory inlaid doors. The palaces to be visited includes – Brijraj Bhawan palace, Umed Bhawan palace. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 15: KOTA – Bundi - PUSHKAR / Ajmer (215 Kms – 4.5 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to AJMER. Enroute visit the majestic Bundi Fort and relive its medieval splendor that continues to shine through the ruins. Bundi is also famous for its paintings and murals that have gained appreciation worldwide.

From Ajmer the 14 kms onward drive through the Snake Mountains will reach you to Pushkar. Pushkar is one of the places with highly prestigious sites for both Hindu and Muslim Religions in the world. While Pushkar is known for the only temple in the world of Lord Brahma- the god of creation, Ajmer is globally known for the Mazaar of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty. People come to pray to the lords for the fulfillment of their desires, it is said whoever visit these places in their lifetimes their desires gets fulfilled soon. It is also known as Tirth Raj- the Raj (king) of pilgrim center. No pilgrimages of Hindu or Muslims are considered to be complete until the pilgrim bathes in the sacred waters of Pushkar Lake or he presents a holy sheet at the Dargaah (Muslim shrine). Indeed Pushkar is so sacred that no eggs, meat or alcohols are allowed within the city.

Arrive and check into the hotel / dessert resort. Enjoy the festivity of Pushkar, cattle exchange bazaar ground; enjoy the traditional Rajasthani Folk Music, Dance, Puppet shows. Day 16: PUSHKAR - JAIPUR (130 Kms – 2.5 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel you have time for leisure activities. Later in the day check out and drive to JAIPUR. This historic and first planned city of India was founded by Maharaja Swai Jai Singh in 1727 AD. The king had consulted a number of maps of the world before finally organizing own religious map Shilpa Shastra with the help of a young architect. Maharaja Swai Jai Singh was a builder, astronomer, astrologer, soldier, & philosopher. Presently Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan & is world famous as the Pink City. Wide-avenued Jaipur is the reservoir of Indian customs, traditions, civilization and royal legacy and is one of the most important heritage cities in India. Jaipur is also the home to India’s second most visited site.

Arrive and check into the hotel.

Rest of the evening is free for leisure activities in and around the hotel. With Car and Driver at your disposal you may visit some of the world famous colorfully painted in Pink Bazaars of Jaipur. Shopping is an electrifying activity in Jaipur. It is difficult to define in words, the assortment of products, which these markets offer. Without a shopping spree in markets, no trip to Jaipur is complete. It is the perfect place to shop for Handicrafts, antiques, jewelry, gems, pottery, carpets, textiles, metalwork and leather-ware. In the late evening hours you may go to the Chokhi Daani – A Rajasthani Traditional Village Resort to enjoy the folk dance, music and rich hospitality and for leisure activities. You may also enjoy a traditional Rajasthani Food before returning back to the hotel to stay Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 17: JAIPUR

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel our guide will greet you at the hotel lobby to take you for full day sightseeing of Jaipur.

Fist visit the most famous Amber Fort. Enjoy the Elephant Ride from the foothills of the Fort to the Amber Fort top, the elephant ride will give you the experience and take you into the royal past where Maharajas & royal family members were using the services of elephants as royal transport. Visit the Amber Fort. While returning form the Amber Fort stop for the photo shots at the Jal Mahal - The Floating Palace. Later visit the marvelous City Palace - the current generation of the Maharajas (King) still live here. The spectacular Palace is a lively example of the royal Past.

Go on to visit the Hawa Mahal (wind palace) where from royal ladies were watching daily processions and daily life. Constructed of red and pink sandstone highlighted with white lime, the five-storied facade is peppered with 953 small windows. The breeze (hawa) that comes through the windows keeps it cool even in hot months, and gives the palace its name.

Also visit the Historic Museum to be followed by ancient astrological observatory – The Jantar Mantar and beautiful temple – The Birla Mandir made in pure white marble. Evening is for leisure and shopping activities in some of the exclusive souvenirs boutiques and showrooms to buy some of the most exquisite memories of India. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 18: JAIPUR – Fatehpur Sikri – AGRA (250 Kms – 05 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel you have spare time for leisure activities. Later check out of the hotel and drive to AGRA. Enroute visit one of the most important places of Mughal Era - The Fatehpur Sikri - the abandoned Mughal Kingdom, founded by Akbar in 1569 AD as a ceremonial capital. But unfortunately this magnificent city was abandoned due to scarcity of drinking water and Akbar went back to Agra. Walk the aisles of the Jamia Mazjid mosque, entered by way of the impressive Victory Gate, and lose yourself in the throngs of pilgrims at the tomb of the Sufi saint Salim Chisti, his white marble-encased tomb enclosed within the Jamia mosque's central courtyard. Considered the crowning architectural legacy of Akbar (who also built the Red Fort) and still almost perfectly preserved, today the site is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Continue your drive to Agra so as to arrive later in the day and Check Into the hotel. AGRA is home to one of the 7 Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces are vivid remainders of the ancient Mughal Empire and Capital City of 16th and early 17th centuries. More just a decadent city of graveyards and stones, Agra is a vibrant centre of Culture, Art and Religious philosophies that have enriched mankind and shaped human thought over centuries.

Later in the day after change, wash and some rest visit the Itmad-ud-Daulah - the Baby Taj. The tomb may not be as mammoth as the Taj but the inlay designs and carvings are no less than Taj if not more. The delicate marble latticework in the passages allows the light to enter the interiors. This tomb was the first complete marble Mughal structure. Evening is for shopping and leisure activities. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Agra.

Day 19: AGRA (Taj Mahal)

First visit one of the wonders of the world, The TAJ MAHAL (monument of love), built by 5th great Mughal Emperor Shahi Jahan in the memory as mausoleum of his beloved queen Anjuman Bano Begum-Mumtaz. After her death in 1627 AD, in her memory emperor started to built Taj Mahal (Taj means Crown & Mahal means Palace). It took 22 years for 22000 labors working day and night to build this archeological wonder. It is the romantic origin of Taj as much as its architectural splendor that has led to its fame worldwide. Actually an integrated complex of many structures The Taj Mahal is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, itself a combination of Islamic, Hindu, Persian and Turkish elements. Built in pure white marble which was transported from Makrana in Rajasthan by the help of animals Taj Mahal is one of the man made wonder’s of the world. The Taj Mahal built on the banks of River Yamuna is a masterpiece of symmetry, seeming to be floating in the air from a distance, and each revealed as an illusion experienced as one enters through the main gate. The verses of Holy Koran as inscribed on it and at the top of gate 22 small domes, signifying the number of years the monument took to built. The Taj Mahal has been built on a Marble Platform that stands one above sandstone. The most elegant dome of the Taj, with diameter of 60 feet’s, rises 80 feet’s, over the building and directly under the dome is the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal. Shah Jahan's tomb has been erected next to her's by his son Aurangzeb. Fantastic Inlay works using semi-precious stones decorate and interiors.

Later visit Agra Fort on the banks of Yamuna River built by 3 emperors, Akbar & Jahangir in red sand stone & Shahi Jahan in white marble. The Crescent shaped Fort is 2.5 Km long and during Mughal rule 1/3rd of the Fort was occupied by the army. When British ruled India, they repeated same tradition and now traditionally Indian army has occupied the same. Visit some of the beautiful monuments housed in the complex - The Diwan-i-Am (public audience hall), the beautiful Diwan-i-Khas (private audience hall) and the magnificent Moti Mazjid (Pearl Mosque) were built by Shah Jahan.

Later in the day after lunch visit Sikandra- The site of Akbar's mausoleum and glorious reminder of the historic Mughal Empire. Sikandra was begun by Akbar and completed by his son Jahangir in 1613 AD. It reflects the fusion of Hindu and Muslim art and architecture which characterized the era. The tomb is situated in the centre of a large garden and four identical red sandstone gates lead to the tomb complex. The building, with three-storey minarets at each corner, is built of red sandstone with white marble polygonal patterns inlaid. Sikandra is named after Sikandra Lodi, the Delhi ruler who was in power from 1488 to 1517.

Day 20: AGRA – Jhansi (Train – 02 Hrs) – Orcha – KHAJURAHO (3.5 Hrs by Car)

You will be met by our representative and escorted to the car by which you travel to Khajuraho. Enroute visit ORCHA. Orcha is a medieval city founded by Bundela rulers with palaces and temples of the 16th and 17th century – which have remarkably withstood the onslaught of time. The river Betwa picturesquely flanks the city. Visit this historical site with magnificent temples and monuments. Some of the palaces were decorated with painted murals which represent the finest flowering of the Bundela School of painting. Visit beautiful Palace Complex – Jahangiri Mahal and the Raja Mahal. Closely study the intricacies of the mural paintings in the Raja Mahal and visit the Lakshminarayan Temple.

Continue your drive to Khajuraho so as to arrive and check into the hotel. The temples at Khajuraho form probably one of the best examples of Indian art and architecture. One of the most popular tourist destinations in India, Khajuraho is home to India’s largest group of medieval Hindu temples, famous for their erotic sculptures depicting scenes from the Kama Sutra. Only discovered in the 20th century after being reclaimed by jungle, the Khajuraho group of monuments is today protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Khajuraho was once the religious capital of the Chandela Rajputs, a Hindu dynasty that ruled this part of India from the 10th to the 12th centuries. The Khajuraho temples were built over a span of a hundred years, from 950 to 1050, with the whole area enclosed by a wall with eight gates, each flanked by two golden palm trees. There were originally over 80 Hindu temples, of which only 22 now stand in a reasonable state of preservation, scattered over an area of about 21 km2 (8 square miles). Learn the history of these world-famous temples on a guided tour and enjoy a taste of a little erotica from the Middle Ages.

Return back to the hotel for some rest. In the evening go for some more sightseeing of Southern Group of Khajuraho Temples followed by a visit to the state’s museum of Tribal and Folk Arts. There's so much of exquisite artistic excellence scattered everywhere in Khajuraho that the most passionate lovers of art could spend days studying them. Return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 22: KHAJURAHO – VARANASI (Flight)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel you have spare time for leisure activities. Later in the day check out to be transferred to the airport to board your flight to VARANASI.

Varanasi is a melting pot, where both death and life come together. Varanasi – the oldest cities of India is situated on the banks of the sacred river Ganges. Varanasi is the quintessential Indian holy city, where millions of Hindu travels to for pilgrimage, to worship, mourn or die. Upon arrival at the airport you will be greeted at the airport by our representative and escorted to the hotel for Check Inn. Later in the day after change, wash and some rest go for sightseeing of Varanasi Temples and the ancient city. Take a stroll around the ancient city located on the banks of river Ganges. Later tour the old city visiting the principles temples including Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Kashi Hindu University where more than 50,000 students from all over the world are learning. In the evening witness the mesmerizing Sunset Prayer Ceremony at the banks of Holy river Ganges to finish your day. Everyday at dawn thousands of pilgrims and people can be seen offering salutations to the Sun God in waist-deep water, secure in their conviction that the muddy waters of the Ganges will wash away all the accumulated sins of their life. The oil lamps (diyas) and flowers set afloat on the river at dusk make a fascinating sight.

Evening is for shopping and leisure activities. The weavers create dreams on silk, carpets and wood. So do pick up the brocades and the saris in silk along with the Bhadohi carpets. DAY 23: VARANASI – DELHI (Flight) – Onwards Travel / FLY BACK

According to Hindu belief, Benaras or Varanasi as it is known is the cosmic center of the Universe. The best way to catch the essence of Varanasi is to travel down the Ganges by boat at six o'clock in the morning. Wake up early in the morning to go for a boat ride on the holy River Ganges to watch the sunrise over the Ganges when hundred of people are worshiping & taking bath. After boat ride on Ganges; return back to the hotel for breakfast.

Varanasi is associated not only with Hinduism but also with Buddhism and Jainism. Besides numerous temples, Varanasi also boasts of Buddhist Stupas and Jain temples. Varanasi is also a mirror of the age-old Indian civilization. The archaeological museum at Sarnath houses numerous remains of the past, including the National emblem of India, the Ashoka Pillar.

Later in the afternoon go for excursion tour of Sarnath Temples and monasteries located outside the city where the Buddha first preached his message of enlightenment 24 centuries ago. This is the place where Lord Buddha after enlightenment gave his first sermon or as the Buddhist say set the wheel of dharma or law rolling. Today Sarnath is considered as one of the richest place to have antiques since the Ashoka period to the 12th century. Visit the buried Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon, Sarnath was a renowned school of learning from 6th century B.C. to 12th century AD. Visit the ruins, the stupa, the Buddhist temple and the Museum.

Return back to the hotel in later in the day to check out. You will be transferred to the airport to board your flight back to Delhi. Arrive at the Delhi Airport to be greeted by our representative.
