Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 01:DELHI (Arrival)

tribal tourArrive DELHI - The Political and Cultural Capital of Incredible India to be greeted at the airport by our representative arrival team, who will be waiting with pre-printed signboard of your name at the arrival hall immediately after crossing customs area and currency exchange counters. You will be escorted to the car which will take you to the hotel for check inn. Drive to the hotel is approx 35 minutes form airport. Although most of the international flights arrive late in the evening or at night; your activities for the day will depend upon your arrival flight timing. Spend the night at the hotel for sleep and to get over with the Jet Lag. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Delhi.

Day 02: OLD & NEW DELHI

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel our guide will greet you at the hotel to take you for a full day Guided Sightseeing of Old and New Delhi in Private Dlx Car.

Start off by the visit to The Qutab Minar Complex, followed by The Lotus Temple. Drive through Sfadarjung Tomb or Humanyu Tomb, India Gate, Parliament House, President House and Raj Ghat before entering the Old Delhi to visit the Jamia Mazjid, the famous Red Fort and Chandini Chowk, Walk through the narrow alleys of the oldest and busiest bazaars of India or take a Rickshaw Ride. Visit Shish Ganj Gurudwara. In between if time permits you will also be taken to visit the famous Akshardham Temple or Lakshmi Narayan Temple. To wind up the day tour visit some of the beautiful souvenir shops to buy some of the most exquisite memories from India for your loved ones. Finish the tour with the spectacular Sound and Light Show (1 Hr) at Purana Quila delving into Delhi's glorious and tumultuous past, which makes the 5,000 years old history of the city come alive. Drive through the famous Victorian Cannaught Place - One of the most prominent architectural remnants of British Rule.

Return back to the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure activities. You may go for dinner at an excellent Mughal/ Indian/ Continental Restaurant. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Delhi.

Day 03: DELHI - SHEKHAWATI / Mandawa (250 Kms – 05 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to SHEKHAWATI Region (Mandawa) through the colorful villages of Rajasthan. Majestic Shekhawati region or the semi-desert region of Shekhawati, lying in the triangular region between Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner, is famous for its plethora of painted havelis (mansions), all commendable pieces of the rich artistic traditions of this region. The 'Open Air Gallery of Rajasthan', as it is popularly called 'Shekhawati', the Land of Shekhs, derives its name from Rao Shekha (1433-88). The major towns of interest in the region are Mandawa, Dundlod, Fatehpur, Ramgarh, Nawalgarh and Jhunjhunu, although virtually every town has at least a few surviving havelis

Arrive & check in at the Heritage Haveli called the Castle Mandawa reminding you of the rich cultural heritage of the Shekhawati region. Later in the day visit the 150 to 200 year old painted havelies (big houses) by the natural colors in the streets of the village. Medieval turreted towers, palanquin-roofed balconies, blend with modern comforts in old-world rooms. You can also watch the daily village life while watching the havelies. . You will be amazed as you visit the mansions of Nawalgarh & Dundlod Fort covered with frescoes depicting the whole gamut on social and religious life, where history is painted with humor. Major attractions of the place include Aath (eight) Haveli complex, Anandilal Poddar haveli, Jodhraj Patodia haveli, Chokhani haveli and hotel Roop Niwas Palace. Enjoy the evening at the heritage hotel watching the traditional colorful cultural dance and music show performed by local inhabitants. You can have dinner over bonfire. Overnight stay is at the Hotel.

Day 04: MANDAWA - KHIMSAR (220 Kms - 04 hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the resort check out and drive to KHIMSAR which was once a small kingdom and the battle scarred walls of the fort bear testimony to the historical significance of the place. Khimsar is renowned for the 16th century Khimsar Fort that is situated on the edge of the great Thar Desert. Set in the midst of sand dunes, this amazing fort stands as securely as it did over many centuries of battle and strife. 21 generations later, a part of this fort is still residence to the Karamsot Rathor direct lineage while the rest has been opened out to royal Rajput hospitality, personally overseen by the family.

Arrive and check into the Grand Heritage hotel – Khimsar Fort.

Rest of the day is free to enjoy your stay and experience this princely heritage hospitality. Optionally you can take a Desert Jeep Safari into the Sand Dunes – part of Thar Desert and visit some of the most colorful villages of the Rajasthan. Meet villagers and visit the Khimsar Sand Dunes Village.

Return back to the hotel in the evening for overnight stay.

Day 05: KHIMSAR - JODHPUR (90 Kms – 1.5 hrs)

jodhpur tourAfter breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to JODHPUR which is often called as the Sun City of India for its consistently bright, sunny climate is famous for its magnificent forts and palaces, Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 AD after shifting his capital from Mandore to Jodhpur by the advice of a holy man. The city dominated by the massive Mehrangarh fort on a rocky hill. There are about 100 towers in the city, most of which are surrounded by defensive battlements. Set at the edge of the Thar Desert, the imperial city of Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the stark desert landscapes meet a riot of palaces, forts and temples, all enclosed within imposing city walls. Six enormous gates provide entry to the city centre: Nagauri, Merati, Sojati, Jalori and Siwanchi gates, plus Chand Pole. The city is encompassed by a high wall -10 km long with 8 gates and innumerable bastions.

Arrive and check into the hotel. Later in the day go for guided sightseeing of Jodhpur. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort 125 meters above plains - The walls of the fort are enormous—up to 36m high and 21m wide. Admire the breathtaking view of the city from the ramparts, saving some time to check out the fort museum, which houses an exquisite collection of palanquins, howdahs, royal cradles, miniatures, musical instruments, costumes and furniture. Some of the spectacular palaces of Mehrangarh to be seen are Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Janaki Mahal, Phool Mahal, Rang Mahal, Darbar takhat. Jaswant -Thada – the traditional cremation ground for the royalties of Jodhpur. This is a royal cenotaph made up of white marble. It was built to commemorate Maharaja Jaswant Singh. Some rare portraits of the former rulers of Jodhpur are also displayed here. Umaid Bhawan palace – now one of the most luxurious heritage hotels in India and Sardar Market Clock Tower - Tiny shops line both sides of the narrow lanes in these markets. One can find textiles, silver, handicrafts, aromatic spices, vegetables and colorful Indian sweets in these shops. Evening is for shopping and leisure activities. Later in the day return back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 06: JODHPUR (Bishnoi Village Safari – Jeep)

After breakfast early in the morning you will be picked up from the hotel for an exclusive Jeep Safari through the Bishnoi Villages. Start off with a visit to the site of Kahejarli Massacre, this place itself describe the Bishnois. This place is famous for its great history where thousands of Bishnois have given there life to protect tree. Continue your Safari to visit the Singhasani Village famous for its unique pottery and style of pottery making, you can experience and enjoy the art yourself. Carry on to visit Kankani Village famous for the art of Block Printings

Lunch will be served with a local Bishnoi Village Family. Your village safari includes visit to the Chota Guda or the Shepherd’s Village where in you can experience the real village life and take some of the memorable photographs with villagers. Visit h Lake Guda - Here you can watch wild animals in there natural habitats, many species of desert animals are found there some of them our Antelopes, Gazelle, Dumessille Crane, Rabbits, Blue Bulls, Migrated Birds, Peacocks etc. Enjoy one of the most spectacular sunset over the Lake.

To complete the village safari visit the Salawas –Dari Udyog. Salawas is a land of magic carpets; a land where fantasy and reality joins forces to keep alive one of its most famous traditions: the durry (Rugs). The durry (Rugs), weather weaved out of cotton or wool, spreads colorful tradition and heritage from its primitive form of weaving in the villages of Rajasthan.

Drive back to the hotel in Jodhpur to end the Jeep Safari. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Jodhpur.

Day 07: JODHPUR – PUSHKAR (200 Kms – 04 hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to AJMER. From Ajmer the 14 kms onward drive through the Snake Mountains will reach you to Pushkar. Pushkar is one of the places with highly prestigious sites for both Hindu and Muslim Religions in the world. While Pushkar is known for the only temple in the world of Lord Brahma- the god of creation, Ajmer is globally known for the Mazaar of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty. People come to pray to the lords for the fulfillment of their desires, it is said whoever visit these places in their lifetimes their desires gets fulfilled soon. It is also known as Tirth Raj- the Raj (king) of pilgrim center. No pilgrimages of Hindu or Muslims are considered to be complete until the pilgrim bathes in the sacred waters of Pushkar Lake or he presents a holy sheet at the Dargaah (Muslim shrine). Indeed Pushkar is so sacred that no eggs, meat or alcohols are allowed within the city.

Arrive and check into the hotel / dessert resort. Enjoy the festivity of Pushkar, cattle exchange bazaar ground; enjoy the traditional Rajasthani Folk Music, Dance, Puppet shows. Later take CAMEL RIDE on the nearby sand dunes Pushkar also hold biggest annual Camel & Craft Fair, which is known all over the world. In the evening visit the Brahma Lake, Temple or the Mazaar or carry on with the leisure activities. Pushkar houses the only Lord Brahma (Creator of the Universe) Temple in the world. Overnight stay is at the Hotel / Desert resort.

Day 08: PUSHKAR - JAIPUR (130 Kms – 2.5 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel you have time for leisure activities. Later in the day check out and drive to JAIPUR. This historic and first planned city of India was founded by Maharaja Swai Jai Singh in 1727 AD. The king had consulted a number of maps of the world before finally organizing own religious map Shilpa Shastra with the help of a young architect. Maharaja Swai Jai Singh was a builder, astronomer, astrologer, soldier, & philosopher. Presently Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan & is world famous as the Pink City. Wide-avenued Jaipur is the reservoir of Indian customs, traditions, civilization and royal legacy and is one of the most important heritage cities in India. Jaipur is also the home to India’s second most visited site.

Arrive and check into the hotel.

Later in the day go for half day guided sightseeing of beautiful Pink City. Visit the marvelous City Palace - the current generation of the Maharajas (King) still live here. The spectacular Palace is a lively example of the royal Past. Go on to visit the Hawa Mahal (wind palace) where from royal ladies were watching daily processions and daily life. Constructed of red and pink sandstone highlighted with white lime, the five-storied facade is peppered with 953 small windows. The breeze (hawa) that comes through the windows keeps it cool even in hot months, and gives the palace its name. Go on to visit the Historic Museum to be followed by ancient astrological observatory – The Jantar Mantar and beautiful temple – The Birla Mandir made in pure white marble. Before returning back you may visit some of the world famous colorfully painted in Pink Bazaars of Jaipur. . In the late evening hours go to the Chokhi Daani – A Rajasthani Traditional Village Resort to enjoy the folk dance, music and rich hospitality and for leisure activities – a Rajasthan cultural feast your first experience with the Romantic Rajasthan. You may also enjoy a traditional Rajasthani Food before returning back to the hotel to stay Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 09: JAIPUR – Fatehpur Sikri – AGRA (250 Kms – 05 Hrs)

fatehpur sikriAfter breakfast in the morning at the hotel go for yet another guided sightseeing of Jaipur. Fist visit the most famous Amber Fort. Enjoy the Elephant Ride from the foothills of the Fort to the Amber Fort top, the elephant ride will give you the experience and take you into the royal past where Maharajas & royal family members were using the services of elephants as royal transport. Visit the Amber Fort. While returning form the Amber Fort stop for the photo shots at the Jal Mahal - The Floating Palace. Before returning back to the hotel go for leisure and shopping activities in some of the exclusive souvenirs boutiques and showrooms to buy some of the most exquisite memories of India. With Car and Driver at your disposal you may visit some of the world famous colorfully painted in Pink Bazaars of Jaipur. Shopping is an electrifying activity in Jaipur. It is difficult to define in words, the assortment of products, which these markets offer. Without a shopping spree in markets, no trip to Jaipur is complete. It is the perfect place to shop for Handicrafts, antiques, jewelry, gems, pottery, carpets, textiles, metalwork and leather-ware

Return back to the hotel to check out and drive to AGRA. Enroute visit one of the most important places of Mughal Era - The Fatehpur Sikri - the abandoned Mughal Kingdom, founded by Akbar in 1569 AD as a ceremonial capital. But unfortunately this magnificent city was abandoned due to scarcity of drinking water and Akbar went back to Agra. Walk the aisles of the Jamia Mazjid mosque, entered by way of the impressive Victory Gate, and lose yourself in the throngs of pilgrims at the tomb of the Sufi saint Salim Chisti, his white marble-encased tomb enclosed within the Jamia mosque's central courtyard. Considered the crowning architectural legacy of Akbar (who also built the Red Fort) and still almost perfectly preserved, today the site is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Continue your drive to Agra so as to arrive later in the day and Check Into the hotel. AGRA is home to one of the 7 Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces are vivid remainders of the ancient Mughal Empire and Capital City of 16th and early 17th centuries. More just a decadent city of graveyards and stones, Agra is a vibrant centre of Culture, Art and Religious philosophies that have enriched mankind and shaped human thought over centuries.

Rest of the evening is free for leisure activities in and around the hotel in Agra. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Agra.

Day 10: AGRA (Taj Mahal) – BILASPUR (Overnight Train)

taj mahal tourAfter breakfast in the morning our guide will greet you at the hotel to take you for sightseeing of AGRA. First visit one of the wonders of the world, The TAJ MAHAL (monument of love), built by 5th great Mughal Emperor Shahi Jahan in the memory as mausoleum of his beloved queen Anjuman Bano Begum-Mumtaz. After her death in 1627 AD, in her memory emperor started to built Taj Mahal (Taj means Crown & Mahal means Palace). It took 22 years for 22000 labors working day and night to build this archeological wonder. It is the romantic origin of Taj as much as its architectural splendor that has led to its fame worldwide. Actually an integrated complex of many structures The Taj Mahal is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, itself a combination of Islamic, Hindu, Persian and Turkish elements. Built in pure white marble which was transported from Makrana in Rajasthan by the help of animals Taj Mahal is one of the man made wonder’s of the world. The Taj Mahal built on the banks of River Yamuna is a masterpiece of symmetry, seeming to be floating in the air from a distance, and each revealed as an illusion experienced as one enters through the main gate. The verses of Holy Koran as inscribed on it and at the top of gate 22 small domes, signifying the number of years the monument took to built. The Taj Mahal has been built on a Marble Platform that stands one above sandstone. The most elegant dome of the Taj, with diameter of 60 feet’s, rises 80 feet’s, over the building and directly under the dome is the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal. Shah Jahan's tomb has been erected next to her's by his son Aurangzeb. Fantastic Inlay works using semi-precious stones decorate and interiors.

Later visit Agra Fort on the banks of Yamuna River built by 3 emperors, Akbar & Jahangir in red sand stone & Shahi Jahan in white marble. The Crescent shaped Fort is 2.5 Km long and during Mughal rule 1/3rd of the Fort was occupied by the army. When British ruled India, they repeated same tradition and now traditionally Indian army has occupied the same. Visit some of the beautiful monuments housed in the complex - The Diwan-i-Am (public audience hall), the beautiful Diwan-i-Khas (private audience hall) and the magnificent Moti Mazjid (Pearl Mosque) were built by Shah Jahan.

Later in the day after lunch visit Sikandra- The site of Akbar's mausoleum and glorious reminder of the historic Mughal Empire. Sikandra was begun by Akbar and completed by his son Jahangir in 1613 AD. It reflects the fusion of Hindu and Muslim art and architecture which characterized the era. The tomb is situated in the centre of a large garden and four identical red sandstone gates lead to the tomb complex. The building, with three-storey minarets at each corner, is built of red sandstone with white marble polygonal patterns inlaid. Sikandra is named after Sikandra Lodi, the Delhi ruler who was in power from 1488 to 1517.

Return back to the hotel to check out an be transferred to the railway station to board Overnight Express Train to Bilaspur in the Tribal Chattisgarh estate of Central India. Overnight is onboard the express train in air conditioned executive sleeper class. Tea / Coffee, snacks, refreshments and meals are available onboard. Overnight is onboard the Express Train.

Day 11: BILASPUR – KAWARDHA (150 Kms - 3.5 Hrs by Car)

After breakfast in the morning at the train you will reach Bilaspur one of the major towns of the Tribal state of Chattisgarh. Arrive and disembark from the train to be greeted by our representative. You will be escorted to the Pvt Air-conditioned Car which will drive you through the rest of the tour.

Kawardha is a small but exceptionally beautiful town of Chattisgarh. Famous for its exceptional natural beauty and unique cultural heritage; visit and discover the unique tribal life and rich cultural heritage of the region.

Later in the day after change, wash and some rest visit the Kawardha Palace. Kawardha lies in a predominantly tribal region with the Gond and the Baiga tribes forming the majority of populations in the area. These tribes are mainly inhabited in the inaccessible forest areas, south of Jabalpur. Visit and discover the unique tribal life and rich cultural heritage of the region. Visit the nearby Tribal Villages and interact with the tribal villagers to explore their culture and lifestyle. Also visit the tribal potters family which will exhibit the way earthen pot are made. Return back to the hotel to enjoy the traditional tribal cultural & dance show. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Kawardha.

Day 12: KAWARDHA / Bhoramdeo

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel go for full day excursion of nearby villages. First visit the nearby Bhoramdeo Temples (11th Century) which are known for their exquisite stone carvings and illustrations of local deities. The temples are among major attractions of the region. Afterwards visit the famous 19th century Radha Krishna Temple having underground rooms and the holy water tank, nearby. The underground rooms at the temple and Ujiyar Sagar (a water tank) located adjacent to the temple adds to its charm. Bhoramdeo is also a Jungle Retreat with good possibility to spot wildlife in the region. Also visit the local tribal markets and Khairagarh Music University.

Later in the evening catch the sunset at the Saroda Reservoir, a 500 acres enactment area amidst green rolling hills. Return back to the hotel in Kawardha to enjoy barbeque and bonfire. Fresh food is prepared at the hut in wooden logs to relish the feel of the countryside to display their living panache. Dinner and overnight stay is at the hotel in Kawardha.

Day 13: KAWARDHA – RAIPUR (120 Kms – 03 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to Raipur. Raipur is the capital of newly formed Chattisgarh was originally established by the Kalchuri King, Ram Chandra, in the last quarter of the 14th century AD. For a long time it was the capital of the Haihaya kings. It is the biggest city in the region, fast developing into an important industrial center for large and middle scale industries. Arrive and check into the hotel. Later in the day you have option to visit the temples of Champaran, or tribal villages of Turturiya, on the banks of the Turturiya spring (also called Sursuri Ganga), is surrounded by forests. It has many Buddhist ruins from the 8th century AD, as well as Brahmanical ruins of a later period. You can see many exquisitely sculptured pillars, remains of a brick Stupa, traces of bathing ghats, lingams, figures of four armed Vishnu, and Ganesha idols.

Return back to the hotel for overnight stay in Raipur.

Day 14: RAIPUR – KANKER (140 Kms – 3.5 Hrs)

Kanker has a rich history, dating back to thousands of years, which may be as old as stone era. According to the great Indian epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata, the region had lush green forests and was popularly known as Dandakaranya. During 6th century BC, the region came under the influence of Buddhism. Kanker is famous for its enchanting natural landscapes comprising of scenic hills, waterfalls & lush vegetation & for its unique tribal population.

Arrive and check into the well known Kanker Palace. Later in the day after change, wash and some rest go for tribal tour of Kanker and Bastar which can indeed be a lifetime experience for you. Climb up the forested Keshkal Ghat with your royal guide and visit a colorful weekly market, which provides you with a good opportunity to meet the local tribes. Visit the famous tribal regions of Kondagaon and Narayanpur and discover about some of Bastar's finest handicrafts and the people who make them. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the lush green surroundings of Sal forests. In the evening, enjoy a dance performance by young members of Bastar's unique 'Ghotul' dormitory system. Overnight stay is at the Kanker Palace Hotel.

Day 15: KANKER – BASTAR / Jagdalpur (140 Kms – 3.5 Hrs)

After breakfast at the hotel in the morning check out of the hotel and drive to Jagdalpur / Bastar. Traveling through the jungles of Bastar Region reach the Eco Tribal Ethnic resort near Jagdalpur. Arrive and check into your room. Later in the day after change, wash and some rest go for sightseeing tour of Bastar Tribal region and enjoy a slice of social tribal life. Bastar region is known for its unique tribal population including Gonds who are world-famous for their 'Ghotul' system of marriages. Each tribe has its own distinct dress, culture and way of life and they can easily be differentiated by their specific costumes, jewellery, headdresses, baskets and tools. The main tribes in Bastar are Gond, Abhujmaria, Bison-horn Maria, Muria, Halbaa, Bhatra, Parja and Dhurvaa.

Visit nearby local village- Narayanpur, which is known for its excellent handicrafts: the bell metal, wood craft, wrought iron and bamboo artifacts - another interesting place here is the Ramakrishna Mission centre, where you can meet some of the people involved in welfare work for the tribes. Return back to Jagdalpur to visit the 'haat' (weekly market) where you can enjoy a slice of local life. Tribal men and women walk up to 20 km to get to the haat, to sell their beautiful handicrafts and other forest products. After lunch visit 'Ashna Park' (the herbal museum), 'Shabari' (The art and craft museum) procure artifacts do a bit of shopping. Relax the evening with a drink while enjoying a tribal dance. Overnight stay is at the resort.

Day 16: BASTAR / Jagdalpur / Chitrakoot / Nagarnar (Full Day Tribal Excursion)

After breakfast in the morning go for full day excursion of the Tribal areas - First drive to the famous 'Chitrakote Falls', the Niagara-like horseshoe waterfall created by Indravati River – You have plenty of time to take pictures and be mesmerized by the moist atmosphere, the rainbows arching across the turbulent flow as your thought glides into the ancient past. On the way back enjoy one of the finest virgin forests tracts on earth; proceed for lunch at the resort; stop at the Anthropological Museum to have an interesting insight into Bastar's tribal culture. After lunch drive to Nagarnar, famous for its terracotta handicrafts. ('Vrindavan', one of the local craftsmen, participated in the Festival of India held in London in 1981 to earn much accolade) - Before fall of night return back to the resort for dinner over barbeque & bonfire amidst the tribal dance performed by local villagers & tribal inhabitants. Overnight stay is at the resort.

Day 17: BASTAR – Kotpad – Nabarangapur – JEYPORE (05 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to another tribal state of India – Orissa. Drive to one of the main centers of Tribal attraction JEYPORE. Enroute visit Kotpad – the textile village of Orissa. This is one of the very few remaining places in India where natural resources like minerals & natural plants are used for dieing & coloring of yarn by the weavers. Continue your drive to Jeypore and check into the hotel. Jeypore is the city of victory and the palace of erstwhile Jeypore estate. The old fort is encircled by high masonry wall with an imposing gateway. A mile and a half wide great water tank, west of the town, known as Jagannath Sagar, is ideal for water sports. Jeypore, developed as the center of trade in Koraput district, is also famous for paper mask crafts and is one of the major places for any Tribal Tour itinerary. Rest of the day is for leisure activities. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Jeypore.

Day 18: JEYPORE – Ankadeli – Lamptaput – JEYPORE (Full Day Tribal Excursion)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel go for full day guided excursion tour of nearby tribal villages. First drive to Ankadeli and visit the famous Bonda Tribes; who are a sub-race of Austromongoloids tribes. These are considered as the most primitive Naked Tribes who live in isolated world and come out only once in a week to the weekly Haat Bazaar. Most interesting is to see the Bonda women who wear their silver & brass rings around the neck, hundred of necklaces on the body, shaved hair a small cloth wrapped down to cover half of the private areas as they are out of any history book. Their shaved heads are decorated with plaits of Palmyra leaves. On the other side the Bonda men with their bow & arrow can be easily located with country made liquor. All this is really fascinating to watch. You will be made to walk to short distance for about 2 kilometers to see all this. Photography in the market is restricted; you are not allowed to take any photographs without the permission.

Later in the day continue drive & proceed to Lamtaput & watch another primitive Tribe called Gdabas Parajas and Mali tribes – these are colorful & musical tribal people. Also visit the local potters villages. They are again one of the oldest tribes of India & their traces of origin have been found to be of the time of Ramayana. Watch & enjoy their famous and beautiful dance called Dehmsa. Return back to the hotel later in the day to spend time at leisure. Overnight stay is at the hotel in Jeypore

Day 19: JEYPORE – Kunduli – Nandapur – JEYPORE (Full Day Tribal Excursion)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel go for yet another excursion tour of other nearby Tribal Villages. First visit the Kunduli weekly Bazaar. This is the biggest markets of the entire tribal region. This is the most colorful markets of the inhabitant’s tribes - the Sana Paroja & Mali tribes. Later go on to visit the tribal villages of Nandapur. A short walk and trek will reach you to villages of Sanja Pajora tribes & visit the village Khilus, Saana Padar, Bada Padar.

Optionally you can visit Gupteswar located at 70 km form Jeypore to visit the caves, which were believed to have been the refuge for Lord Rama during his exile. Very interesting tribes called Dhuruba live here. Walk through the villages of Ramanguda, Dogariguda, Silpader, Talur etc. Interestingly it is the men here who wear ornaments instead of women. There is a Cave Temple of lord Shiva in the hidden mountains and is one of the most prominent places for the tribal people.

Return back to the hotel later in the day for overnight stay in Jeypore.

Day 20: JEYPORE – Koraput – Laxmipur - RAYAGADA (250 Kms – 06 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to RAYAGADA. Enroute visit Koraput & Laxmipur. Go for sightseeing in Koraput visiting modern Jagannath Temple, the Tribal Museum behind the temple which educates the tourists about the culture and heritage of the tribals. The temple allows Non Hindu Devotees whereas the original temple of Puri does not allow any foreign non Hindu devotees. There are some ancient Jain Statues with remains of an old Jain monastery. The place invites the attention of the antiquarian for exploration.

Continue your drive to Rayagada so as to arrive later in the day and check into the hotel.

Day 21: RAYAGADA – Belagarh – Kotagarh - BALIGUDA (300 Kms – 07 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel; checkout and drive to BALIGUDA. Enroute visit Belagarh which is gifted with ample scenic beauty amidst panoramic view of lush green rolling hills. Trek into the villages of Kutia Kondh Tribes and the Kondhs who still follow the age old traditions of food gathering & hut dwelling. They are friendly and hospitable & simple people and were once famous in the history for their Human Sacrifice. You may find or encounter wildlife of the area specially the Elephant. Belghar, a hamlet situated about 2555ft above the sea level is very much suitable for adventurous trekking to the nearby hills. Nearby Kotagarh sanctury is popular with tourist who wishes to enjoy the wild un-spoilt environment. This area is also famous for cane works. Visit the Kuttiya Kondha Tribal Villages & Weekly Market at Kothagarh and the Kutia kondh tribes.

Day 22: BALIGUDA (Excursion to Tribal Villages)

Baliguda is in the district of Phulbani, through the beautiful countryside road full with small mountains of Sal forest, one of the entry point to the tribal highland of Orissa. It has wild life, scenic beauty, healthy climate, and serpentine ghat roads for the tourists who need to relax and unwind. It has attractions, like panoramic coffee gardens, pine jungles, Ghat roads, hills and water falls, virgin forest and typical tribal village life. Day 23: BALIGUDA – TAPTAPANI (260 Kms – 06 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out and drive to TAPTAPANI – the place where nature reveals its enigmatic charisma & exotic world or wonder. Arrive and check into the hotel. Later in the day enjoy the nature very close to your heart - The bubbling hot spring of Taptapani amidst deep forests and high on a hill. The waters here is believed to have medicinal properties is a mark of blessings to this region. Hundreds of visitors, round the year, come to Taptapani to enjoy this fantastic spring with medicinal merits. Day 24: TAPTAPANI – GOPALPUR on the SEA (100 Kms – 2.5 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning check out of the hotel and drive to Gopalpur on the Sea. Gopalpur is one of the most pristine beaches of Orissa, this quiet beach is a splendid retreat for sea-worshippers, located about 16 km from Berhampur. Day 25: GOPALPUR on the SEA

After breakfast in the morning at the resort full day free for leisure activities in and around the beach resort/ hotel. This place offers one of the appealing beaches along side the eastern coastline of India. Not very crowded like the Goa or Kerala Beach fronts, this pristine small beach of Orissa is a retreat for the sun, sea and sand lovers. As the place took its name from a 18th century temple dedicated to Lord Krishna it was originally a small fishing village. Besides being one major beach destination, the temple here is an added attraction for the travelers. Full day is for leisure activities. Overnight stay is at the resort in Gopalpur.

Day 26: GOPALPUR - Chilika Lake – PURI (250 Kms – 06 Hrs)

After breakfast at the resort in the morning check out and drive to Puri. Enroute visit the Chilka Lake the biggest brackish water lake of Asia & famous for the migratory birds to its birds island during winter. You can cruise inside the lake. The Chilka Lake in Orissa is Asia's largest inland salt-water lagoon. Studded with small islands- including the picturesquely-named Honeymoon Island and Breakfast Island- the lake is separated from the Bay of Bengal by a sandy ridge. The pear-shaped lake spreads across 1,100 sq km, & has a unique ecosystem with a range of aquatic flora and fauna found in and around its brackish waters. An impressive array of bird life, both native and migrant, makes Chilka & of the best places in India for a bit of satisfying bird-watching.

After boat ride continue your drive to Puri. Arrive and check into the hotel. Rest of the day is for leisure activities.
Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannath needs no introduction. According to tradition Puri was once a thickly wooded hill inhabited by the Sabaras (Pre-Aryan and Pre-Dravidian tribes of the Austric linguistic family). The sunny beach at Puri is one of the finest in the world. Watching the sunrise in a symphony of colours is a wonderful experience. It is one of the most popular sea-side resorts where visitors from any part of the globe can comfortably relax. The Lord Jagannath Temple built during the 12th century A.D. by Chodaganga Deva dominates the landscape for kilometers around. Being the tallest temple (65 metres) in Orissa, it is one of the most magnificent pieces of monuments of India. In front of the main gate stands a 16 sided monolithic pillar (11 metres high), called Aruna Stambha which formally stood in front of the Sun Temple and was brought to Puri during the 18th century A.D. Some of the other important temples are Gundicha, Lokanath, Sunaragauranga, Daria Mahabir and Tota Gopinatt. There are also a number of holy tanks like Narendra, Markandeya, Sweta Ganga and Indradyumna. There are many Monasteries locally known as Mathas also of tourist interest.

Day 27: PURI (KONARK Temple Excursion)

konark tourAfter breakfast at the resort in the morning go for a full day excursion tour visiting the Jagannath Temple, Atharnala Bridge and the famous Konark Sun Temple. Return to the resort in the evening for overnight stay.

The magnificent Sun Temple at Konark is the culmination of Orissan temple architecture, and one of the most stunning monuments of religious architecture in the world. The poet Rabindranath Tagore said of Konark that 'here the language of stone surpasses the language of man', and it is true that the experience of Konark is impossible to translate into words. The massive structure, now in ruins, sits in solitary splendor surrounded by drifting sand. Today it is located two kilometers from the sea, but originally the ocean came almost up to its base. Until fairly recent times, in fact, the temple was close enough to the shore to be used as a navigational point by European sailors, who referred to it as the 'Black Pagoda'. Built by King Narasimhadeva in the thirteenth century, the entire temple was designed in the shape of a colossal chariot, carrying the sun god, Surya, across the heavens. Surya has been a popular deity in India since the Vedic period.

Return back to the hotel in the evening for Overnight stay.

Day 28: PURI (Leisure Day)

After breakfast in the morning at the resort; full day is free for leisure activities. You can go for shopping / sightseeing and leisure & beach activities as per your choice. Overnight stay is at the resort in Puri.

Day 29: PURI – BHUBANESHWAR (100 Kms – 02 Hrs)

After breakfast in the morning at the resort check out and drive to Bhubaneshwar. Enroute visit the colorful appliqué village of PIPILI where you can see the colorful Orissan handicrafts and Dhauli peace pagoda famous for the Ashokan rock edicts dating back to 2nd century B.C. Arrive and check into the hotel. After change, wash and some rest go for guided sightseeing tour of Bhubaneshwar visiting Bindusagar Lake, Lingaraj Temple, Rajarani Temple, Orissa State Museum and Mukteshwara Temple. All the temples built between 7th – 11th centuries AD. Evening is free for leisure activities. Overnight stay is at the hotel.

Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa, is also popularly known as the "Temple City of India". Being the seat of Tribhubaneswar or 'Lord Lingaraj', Bhubaneswar is an important Hindu pilgrimage centre. Hundreds of temples dot the landscape of the Old Town, which once boasted of more than 2000 temples.

Day 30: BHUBANESHWAR (Udaigiri / Khandgiri / Ratnagiri Caves Excursion Tour)

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel go for full day excursion to the magnificent caves around Bhubaneshwar. First visit the nearby Udaigiri & Khandgiri Caves. Khandgiri (Broken Hill) is located close to Bhubaneshwar and there are 113 caves were built around 2nd century B.C. Archaeologically significant, because of the Pali records engraved in the Hathi Gumpha, these caves display the 13 year megalithic record of king Kharavela. These coarse grained sandstone caves were meant as dwellings for Jain monks. The Ananta caves -3 with carved figures of athletes, women, elephants and a snake carved at the top of the entrance, definitely awe generating site. To the left are cave 1 (Parrot cave) and cave 2. As the name suggests, the former has carvings of birds on doorway arches and the latter has some ancient Brahmi script engraved on its walls. The steep path continues to the hill top where there is a 18th century Jain temple. The Khandagiri hill provides an enthralling view of Bhubaneswar from its summit.

At the Udayagiri caves there is the double-storey "Rani ka Naur" or Queen's Palace. Both levels have 8 entrances with beautiful carved sculptures on pillars, arches and to the rear of the courtyard, depicting rampaging elephants, petrified monkeys, sword fights and women. Circle round the hill to the right to the Ganesh Gumpha -10, which is directly above the Rani ka Naur, depicting the elephant-headed Lord Ganesh on the rear wall of the cell. There is a Pavana Gumpha (Cave of Purification) and the small Sarpa Gumpha ( Serpent Cave), the tiny door to which is surmounted by a three-headed cobra. The exit is channeled via the Chhota Hathi gumpha -3, with carvings of elephants coming out from behind a tree. Back at the entrance ascend the hill to the Swargapuri -9 and Hathi Gumpha -14. The latter holds an inscription in 117 lines, the exploits of its builder, king Kharavela together with sculptures showing lion holding its prey, elephants with snakes wrapped around them and pillars topped by pairs of bizarre winged animals.

Ratnagiri located little far from the main town is encompassed by rivers in all the directions and is a Buddhist heritage site. A large-scale excavation has unearthed two large monasteries, one of them identified as Sri Ratnagiri Mahavihara Aryabhikshu Sangha which holds beautiful doorways, cella sanctum, a big stupa, Buddhist shrines, sculptures and colossal Buddha. The second monastery cherishes the presence of a blissful life-size granite statue of the Buddha. Interestingly, the site also has a Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna.

After full day excursion of beautiful caves; return back to the hotel in Bhubaneshwar. Evening is for leisure activities. Overnight stay is at the hotel.

DAY 31: BHUBANESHWAR – DELHI (Flight) – Onwards Travel / FLY BACK

After breakfast in the morning at the hotel check out to be transferred to the airport to board your flight back to Delhi. Arrive at the Delhi Airport to be greeted by our representative.
